Installing the tech app

The PWA install flow on iOS and Android. No app store required.

Servicio's tech app is a Progressive Web App. It installs to the home screen with no app store, no approval process, no friction. One tap in a browser and it is there.

iOS (Safari)

  1. Open Safari, navigate to your tenant's tech URL (/t/{slug}/tech).
  2. Sign in with your email + password (one time — from then on you can use Face ID for the session).
  3. Tap the share icon at the bottom of Safari.
  4. Scroll down → "Add to Home Screen."
  5. Confirm. The app icon appears on the home screen.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open Chrome, navigate to the tech URL.
  2. Sign in.
  3. Tap the 3-dot menu → "Install app" (or "Add to Home screen").
  4. Confirm. The app installs to the home screen.

What the installed app gives you

  • Full-screen, no browser chrome — feels like a native app.
  • Offline support: today's route is pre-cached; photo uploads queue until signal returns.
  • Camera integration: taking photos is one tap.
  • Geolocation: the GPS breadcrumb runs in the background while the visit is in progress.
💡
Enable location permissions during install. Without them, the GPS breadcrumb and weather features cannot work. Notifications are optional and purely for "new assignment" alerts.
Offline support requires the app to have been opened online at least once in the last 24 hours (the service worker pre-caches content on open). Techs who only open the app when they arrive at a no-signal yard will not get the offline experience. We recommend opening the app with coffee in the morning — it warms the cache.
